Outdoor Waist Belt ^Sale

Ordered and received size L/XL. I should have ordered one size smaller (M/L), as the one I ordered fits well around my hips, but is too large for my 33 inch waist. I like this item -- it is very well made -- but I don't know what the strings are for on the front of the hips. Perhaps another reviewer can enlighten me?
